iti.edu.sg is an independent theatre school for contemporary artists in Singapore.
ITI offers a distinctive actor training programme based on an intercultural learning methodology and immersions in traditional theatre systems. Click here to find out more about the programme: iti.edu.sg/about/who-we-are .
Students are auditioned from Singapore, Asia and beyond, then train at ITI for three years. ITI alumni then go on to make socially-engaged as well as critically-acclaimed work in Singapore and abroad.
How You Can Help
Your donations will make a critical difference and support ITI in nurturing artists who contribute to their communities. ITI is a registered charity and an Institution of Public Character, and more than 60% of its income has to come from fundraising.
ITI Alumni
ITI alumni have gone on to produce work that engages with society, in Singapore and abroad.
ITI alumni have taken up pioneering leadership roles, setting up cultural organisations that serve underserved communities. Peter Sau is the founder of Project Tandem, a training programme for disabled performing artists, and is a principle collaborator on And Suddenly I Disappear…the Singapore ‘d’ Monologues, the first multilingual, intercultural, disability-led theatre project created in a collaboration between Singapore and the UK.
Sankar Venkateswaran runs a cultural space in Attappady, Kerala, and works with the impoverished indigenous communities of the region.
Seng Soo Ming founded Pitapat Theatre and has been working towards building a vibrant arts community for the youth in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
ITI's distinguished alumni include Yeo Yann Yann, winner of two Golden Horse Awards for her performances in Wet Season and Ilo Ilo, and International Emmy Award nominee for her role in Invisible Stories; Peter Sau, recipient of the 2011 Young Artist Award and several Life! Theatre Awards; Felimon Blanco, recipient of the 2013 Most Outstanding Zambosurian Award (Philippines); and Sankar Venkateswaran, recipient of the 2019 Shankar Nag Theatre Award, presented to theatre all-rounders under the age of 40 who embody the spirit of service to theatre in India. 78 alumni have received 50 awards.
